Located in the heart of the beautiful hills, on the former site of a 13th century Dominican monastery in Saint- Émilion, Couvent des Jacobins is one of the gems of French wine heritage. With land totalling nearly 11 hectares and consisting of clay and limestone soils, the Joinaud-Borde family make great Merlot to share from their plots. For the Joinaud-Borde family, making wine requires knowledge of wine etiquette; the finished product is not just a result of technical and cropping measures. It is primarily an art of living that seeks to perpetuate winemakers from father to son and mother to daughter. Certainly one of the most interesting up-and-coming wineries in Saint-Émilion and one to watch with intense interest.
Soft and supple but light. Meaty, red berry notes. Drying finish.
